Happy Long Weekend!

Just a really quick post to say we hope you have a wonderful and relaxing long weekend! I will be staying home with family and friends, but I am day dreaming of packing up a vintage suitcase, getting into an old convertible and zooming off to my fabulous weekender for a garden picnic. Ahhh, one day maybe...

Images are from two of our favourite blogs:  Absolutely Fabulous Things and Coco and Kelly

Pet Art. Love it.

I know we all love our pets but sometimes a portrait – even to the most devoted - seems just a little too much to be hanging on our precious wall space. Stephen Fowler over at Gemini Studio Art, however, has hit the nail on  the head. Possibly the funkiest pet portraits we have ever seen, I can't wait to get at least one for my wall!

Based in the US, all his products can be bought on his Etsy shop: Gemini Studio Art. Just divine…

I may have saved my fave for last!

Fox and Beau's Favourite Florists in Sydney!

In case you haven't noticed already, the Fox and Beau girls (Katie & Amy) love flowers/floral/floral arrangements and floral ice cream. We have decided to feature our favourite florists in Sydney, sorry everyone else, but we haven't had the pleasure to purchase outside of the city. So read, enjoy and please visit these delightful blossoming sanctuaries, you will not be disappointed!

Miss Poppies Flowers in Croydon, Sydney encapsulates that "vintage" style. The shop is gorgeous and central and when you walk in there you immediately feel like you are in a cute little chic home!
Miss Poppies Flowers - 27-29 Hennessy St, Croydon, Sydney
574 Crown St, Surry Hills shows off a delightful range of seasonal flowers at Flower Atelier.
This devine looking shop is Summers Floral at Hunter's Hill. I feel as I have walked into my nanna's garden room and your nostrils are welcomed with a sense of Sweet Peas and David Austin roses.
Wild Lotus at Newport is one of my (Amy's) local florists. The store engulfs you with succulents and flannel flowers and all the trimmings!
The Village Flower Merchant at 1/107-107 Harris St, Pyrmont is one I visit regularly. Apart from gorgeous flowers, the owner Lindy also sells beautiful candles, vases and trinkets by Have you met Miss Jones. Contact Lindy on thevillageflowermerchant@gmail.com

Beautiful cushions anyone?

We are always on the look out for gorgeous cushions. They are the simplest way to transform a space, and an affordable option too - which means you can change your mind as many times as you like. To make our wish list, cushions need to have bright colours or texture, something to make us look twice,  but the only rule we really stick to is THEY CAN'T MATCH! So go cushion crazy, mix anything with everything and your space will be transformed in no time at all!

Is this not just divine?

Buy either of these two beauties by Leah Duncan at her etsy shop

And buy a gem like this at Ply Textiles etsy shop

Sally Campbell - gorgeous handmade textiles

Sally Campbell home textiles is an absolute first stop if you are looking for an individual piece for your home, perhaps that perfect present or simply just some inspiration. Devine throws, quits, cushions and wall hangings can all be found here at Sally's online store. With stunning bright colours and attention to detail all of Sally's products are handmade in various villages across India and all her textiles are carbon neutral and eco friendly, and that is something that we just adore here at Fox and Beau. Fox and Beau's Favourite Finds!- September

It's that time again for Fox and Beau's Favorite finds! This month we have searched high and low for the most amazing designers out there, and guess what, we've found stacks! Have a look through and let us know which find is your favourite!
This beautiful piece is from IKEA, however what makes this wall hanging unique is that each one is hand crafted by Indian women in workshops that are run by UNICEF. Not only are you buying a wonderful piece of art, but you are supporting these women and helping them towards a better life.
Who doesn't want a vintage paper pack! You may have heard us talk about Kitiya Palaskas before in our zine article, but she keeps creating some amazing treats for us! This is perfect for collage, zine-making or even gift wrapping!
Speaking of gift wrapping, why not make your own? Hello sandwich is a simple guide to creating your own funky and unique wrapping paper and gift tags!
All I can say is... cute!
A talented little designer named Lauren Harrison from "Eliza do Little" makes these stunning fascinators. Just in time for  Race Day girls!

These cute mapped coasters may not help you locate your drink, but you will definitely find where Newport Beach in the USA is!
Richard McAdam, the mastermind hand makes all these amazingly eccentric linen tea towels and cushions. Just divine!

It's all about Smith and its Journal... - A review by Wade.

Our friend Wade has kindly reviewed Frankie Magazine's new sibling 'Smith Journal'. Going by his review, we guess he really likes it...

You know when you discover a product and feel like it's been made just for you? For me it's 'Smith Journal'. My favourite magazine of 2011 by a well groomed and styled country mile.

From the moment I opened the cover and saw two full page colour ads for Urban Outfitters, I knew that I was in print heaven. The adventurous publishers of classy chick mag 'Frankie' have decided to tap blokes on the shoulder and prickle our intellect, and their first offering is so carefully and obviously lovingly edited.

Articles in Issue One include 'Typewriters and the men who loved them' (Woody Allen, Hemmingway et al); a touching piece on brothers who have gone through adversity; and a missive on life by everyone's favourite retail philosopher Alain De Botton. Plus too many other interesting features to mention.

The photography is sublime, Art Direction and typesetting is deliciously highbrow. It's a totally indugent read and until you get the heavy card pages into your hands, you'll have absolutely no idea the beauty you're missing.

Get it. Now.

So... I like to collect things..

Here at Fox and Beau we like to collect all sorts of things. Anything from an abundance of fabric or decadent wrapping paper that reaches up to our eyes! So, Amy has decided to upload her favourite collected items. They are very personal and mean a lot to her, but we'd love to know what you think!

"I love to collect all sorts of white animals, anything ceramic and woody"
"This almost didn't make the wall because of Amy's husband"
"I also love artificial birds so much I made Katy Perry a hair clip, AND she wore it!"

Lots of vintage tins - for hiding secret choc chip cookies in them!

I collect vintage cameras. They still work,  I think!

Ahhh Frankie Magazine. How nice is it to sit down with a cuppa and read through Frankie magazine!
